Are
you an Education or Training Provider?
Why
is it important that you know about dyslexia?
You may
be aware that 10% of the population is considered to be dyslexic.
Dyslexia may affect an individual in a number of ways causing difficulties
with words, whether written or spoken, as well as organisation, time
management and memory.
Not all
these effects are negative but they will certainly impact on how an
individual acquires learning. Dyslexics tend to have a different learning
style and often think 'out of the box'.
Dyslexia
friendly teaching and training methods are considered suitable and
advantageous for all learners. Our organisation offers awareness
training so that you can meet the needs of ALL learners by
becoming aware of the 'reasonable adjustments' that can be made to
enhance learning, not just for the dyslexic but also for every individual
in the group.
We
offer half and full day training on:
'Dyslexia
Awareness' - this can include Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia
'Differentiation
in the Classroom'
or other
customised content to meet the needs of your group. The training
is both positive and practical.
The trainer
is an experienced adult tutor who has worked for 18 years with dyslexic
adults in education and workplace settings. The last 6 years have
been as manager of the Adult Dyslexia Centre. She has taught Basic
Skills classes, including Family Literacy; worked with adults with
different needs in Study Support settings and trained tutors and
advisors in dyslexia friendly methods. Recent training provision

Home Office and various colleges and training agencies.
